Haaland, top scorer for Dortmund this season and with 16 objectives from 12 Champions League appearances, was absent from the side for their 1-1 draw against Lazio in Group F of the opposition.
Dortmund lead trainer Lucien Favre said Haaland had been harmed in preparing on Tuesday and it ended up being more genuine than at first anticipated.
“Erling won’t play until early January. Perhaps he played excessively,” Favre disclosed to Sky Germany.
“He was harmed in preparing. We at first idea it was not so awful. We can’t transform it.”
Haaland has scored 10 objectives for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season, with four of those coming in the 5-2 whipping of Hertha Berlin a month ago, having joined from RB Salzburg in January 2020.
